VET Delivered To Secondary Students

VET Delivered to Secondary Students

VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses are nationally recognised qualifications that give you job ready skills and knowledge with industry-focused hands on learning in specific occupations. VET courses can be accessed by students in one of 4 ways while still working towards their WACE (West Australian Certificate of Education) at The King's College.

  1. As part of their normal timetable, delivered by Teachers at school. Current offerings are are outlined in The King's College Course Handbook.
  2. As part of an online/study course that students can complete during a supervised study period while at school. It is important to note that these courses are on a Fee for Service arrangement and payment for courses are at the family's expense.
  3. As part of School based traineeship or apprenticeship (SBAT). SBAT's are the only way for students to be in paid work during school hours. Similar to a standard traineeship or apprenticeship, students complete paid work while also progressing towards completion of a nationally accredited qualification.
  4. By attending learning at an external training organisation such as TAFE.
