VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses are nationally recognised qualifications that give you job ready skills and knowledge with industry-focused hands on learning in specific occupations. VET courses can be accessed by students in one of 4 ways while still working towards their WACE (West Australian Certificate of Education) at The King's College.
- As part of their normal timetable, delivered by Teachers at school. Current offerings are are outlined in The King's College Course Handbook.
- As part of an online/study course that students can complete during a supervised study period while at school. It is important to note that these courses are on a Fee for Service arrangement and payment for courses are at the family's expense.
- As part of School based traineeship or apprenticeship (SBAT). SBAT's are the only way for students to be in paid work during school hours. Similar to a standard traineeship or apprenticeship, students complete paid work while also progressing towards completion of a nationally accredited qualification.
- By attending learning at an external training organisation such as TAFE.
