from Julie's Desk.

Welcome back to Term 2 and hello from ‘The Portsea Camp’ where I have had the absolute privilege of spending the first 4 days of term with our Year 6 students, staff and some very amazing parent volunteers. Thank you to everyone for their time and commitment to our students.

Camps are such rich learning experiences. This week the students and staff have enjoyed: learning the history of an area (Portsea has a rich history), trying new foods (The meals have been delicious!), being challenged to step outside comfort zones, conquering fears (and going back for more of the same experience), working in teams, cleaning up after oneself, developing organisational skills, compromising, making new friends and building stamina and resilience. These are just a few of the experiences that everyone on camp have had and as a member of the Principal team, I could not be prouder of the way all students represented our school and conducted themselves as polite and respectful members of society.

Please enjoy a few of the 100’s of photos taken this week. I look forward to reflecting on many more after a very long hot shower and some sleep!

Until next time,

Julie Reid – Assistant Principal (Wellbeing and Inclusion)
