What's Happening in Grade 6?

Maths
Grade 6 students have been working on addition and subtraction of decimals and thinking in terms of metric length measurements. Students have been developing their skills in estimation, reasoning and measuring and comparing various lengths.
SWPBS
Grade 6 students have been working on activities focusing on respectful interactions and safe online behaviour. Victoria Police were very kind to run an incursion with students in grades 4 to 6 on Tuesday 10/02. Students have been developing their teamwork skills to present positive behaviour skills to classmates.
Interschool Sport
Grade 6 students have begun training for interschool sports and are participating in AFL, Tennis Hot Shots, Soccer, and Netball. Students have been developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship during training sessions and are looking forward to their first interschool matches on 20/02.
Reading and Writing
In Reading and Writing, Grade 6 students have been focusing on response texts. They have been learning how to understand and analyse the structure of a response, while developing their ability to write clear judgements supported by reasons. Students have also been building their understanding of simple, compound, and complex sentences to strengthen both their reading comprehension and written responses.
