Morning and Dismissal Procedures
The school gates will be open at 8:10am as school begins promptly at 8:40am. On the odd occasion you are late for school, parents need to park and accompany their child(ren) into the office as parents are required to sign their child into school.
All students will be dismissed from their designated area at 3:00pm. The school gates will open at 3:00pm for parents to collect their child/ren and for Car Pick Up to begin. Supervision of students after school will finish at 3:30pm. If you are running late to pick up your child/ren please contact the school office. The school provides Ambrose, our after school provider and all parents are encouraged to register their children with Ambrose in case pick up cannot occur on time as from 3:30pm staff have meetings and other commitments.
Car Drop-off / Pick-up
In Henson Street a place has been designated for car drop off and pick up. The 'Car Pick Up/Drop off area' is a “No Standing” zone. Drivers must remain in the car whilst children get in and out. School bags are to be placed in the car and not in the boot, this is for the safety of the children.
Students need to be able to get into the car by themselves. If a student is unable to open or close the car door, parents are required to park the car and walk onto the school grounds to collect their child. Please ensure children put on their seatbelts.
Car number signs need to be displayed on the windscreen to assist teachers with calling your child. New signs will be sent home in the coming days. If you require a car number please contact the school office.
We ask parents to observe the road rules and be mindful of the neighbours when parking around the school.
Student pick-up procedures:
- Students in Kindergarten to Year 2 are collected from the Infants COLA.
- Students in Years 3 to 6 are collected from the soccer fields.
- The gate for afternoon parent pick-up is the gate behind the church.
These procedures are in place for student safety during the afternoon pick-up period. By having clear, designated collection points, teachers are better able to supervise students and ensure each child is handed over to the correct adult. This also helps reduce congestion and confusion, especially for our younger students. Pick up time is not a time to engage with your child’s teacher as they are required to supervise the students.
To further support this, if your child is going to be picked up by someone other than their usual parent or carer, please notify the school office earlier in the day. This helps staff ensure that all students are released safely and only to authorised adults.
We kindly ask all parents and carers to collect their children from the assigned areas to continue to ensure student safety.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support in helping us keep all our students safe.
