Level 2

2YS Yasi Shayesteh, 2KH Kim Holmes, 2ES Elizabeth Seymour

Welcome Back!

We are thrilled to share that the 2026 school year has started with fantastic, positive energy. Our students are settling in well and are already engaging in a range of exciting activities.

Positive Start

We started the year with the Positive Start Program, which focused on our school values and supporting Ready to Learn behaviours. Throughout the week, students have participated in various activities that have helped them grow as individuals and as part of the school community. Seeing the children embrace these values with enthusiasm and commitment has been wonderful. Here we see some of the students' wonderful work, thinking about their strengths as learners, how they work best, and what they would like to improve on.

Positive Start Community BBQ

On Friday we had a wonderful community BBQ and open classrooms. We all enjoyed a picnic on the oval and showed our families around our learning environments.

Homework

Homework will begin in Week 4. (Next week) We understand that family life can be busy, especially after school, but we encourage you to support your child in completing their homework for their own benefit. Following the Department of Education guidelines, homework will consist of daily take-home readers (just like last year) and a weekly spelling and maths activity. Digital technology will not be required to complete these activities.

Buddies

This year, every child at HEPS receives a buddy. We have partnered with our buddies during the first week of school and started to get to know each other. For 2KH and 4KR this included a water bucket race and a getting to know you book.
