La Grande Lessive (Thursday 19th March - Sessions 1&2)
As part of La Semaine de la Francophonie, CPS is going to participate for the 7th time in LA GRANDE LESSIVE.
Our theme this year is : 'Les tissus en folie' ('Fabrics Gone Wild').
Jenn and Angélique will introduce the theme in the Art class in Week 7. On the day, the session will be run in French by the French teachers, with the support of their English partners. For those teachers who are planning on Thursdays in sessions 1&2, the Specialist Teachers will run La Grande Lessive in your classrooms. A Bilingual Aide will be allocated to your class for non French speaking Specialist teachers.
Students will be provided with a A4 piece of paper to 'design' their special outfit, inspired by the past, the present or even the future. They could make drawings, paintings or collages using small pieces of fabrics, wool, threads, … Their artworks will then be hanged on washing lines in a designated area for each year level.
Action :
- Can all teachers ask their students to bring any unused cuts of fabric and yarn they can find at home (felt, old T-shirt, wool, cotton thread, ...)?
Can all YLCs check with their team if they can locate enough pegs and string for all their classes. If you need extras, please request them here by the end of Week 6: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1I9cciGQr20fnUOSCnrraz2K_DB_4XM_M/edit
Families will be invited to participate in La Grande Lessive with their children in your classrooms in Session 1. They could also access the school ground from 3.15pm on that day to admire the displays.
