Accountability

Privacy and data security

We are currently updating our security processes as per DET requirements. Please note that there are some changes.

Please complete the Information Security for School Staff eLearning module annually as recommended in the department's Information Security policy  Examples of information security responsibilities may include:

  • requirements to comply with privacy legislation
  • requirements to keep certain information confidential
  • requirements on how to safely share information
  • requirements on how to secure the premises

(this will be included in our Induction process for new staff)

It is important that:

  • when devices are not being actively used, they should be locked away.
  • tv screens should be turned off
  • laptops should be closed or locked when not actively in use
  • classroom doors should be locked when you are not inside.

Be aware that you must be careful:

  • security considerations included in working from home arrangements
  • best practices for securing school data while traveling
  • managing the gathering and sharing of school council information when held (or shared) offsite
  • managing information physically shared with third parties

Student assessments

From now on, ALL learning or behaviour assessments will be saved on a local folder.

  • If these documents are emailed to you, do not save it on your laptop or to google drive, but forward it to your PCO Sub School Leader.
  • If these documents are handed to you in hardcopy, do not make a photocopy but hand it to PCO Sub School Leader

We will now remove all assessments currently housed on google drive.

All IEPs should just use initials.

More information to come.

Locking the Le Jardin Gates

Please don't forget if you are on duty in Le Jardin for the second half of play (lunch or recess), please lock the Reserve Road gate behind you when you leave. We have had parents coming onto site in Session 5 waiting for their JC child's pick up from 3pm onwards when there are lessons occuring in this space which poses a safety risk.

Merci!

JC lower yard first aid bag left outside all weekend

The first aid bag that holds an Epipen was left outside in the heat all weekend. This means that the Epipen is no longer viable and has to be thrown out. This is a waste of $80.

These bags also hold vital and confidential information on them regarding our anaphylactic students/students of note so please ensure that you always return the bags to the first aid office at the end of recess/yard duty.

Missing yard duty bags

The JC and SC tennis court first aid bags are missing. Please have a hunt in your classrooms for these.

Please ensure that yard duty bags are brought back to first aid at the end of each recess.

Thanks

Jackie

Subschool Meeting Minutes

To increase staff awareness of the work our sub-school teams will be putting into progressing towards our AIP goals this year, each team will be sharing their meeting minutes in the briefing notes in the Tuesday following their Monday meetings or the briefing notes after a sub-school day.

The aim is to make this work more visible and enable staff outside of the sub-schools to engage with the important work of the sub-schools wherever possible.

ACTION: Sub-school leaders please link their meeting minutes in next week's Mardi Briefing Notes after your Monday afternoon meeting.
