A Warm Welcome for Foundation 2026 Parents
What a fantastic evening we had at our Foundation Parent Information Night held last Wednesday. We were so pleased to see such a wonderfully well-attended event. The energy and enthusiasm from our new and returning Foundation parents were truly infectious. It was a valuable opportunity to share essential information about the Foundation journey and to build the crucial home-school partnership that supports every child's success. Thank you to all who attended and made the night a huge success. We look forward to a great year ahead with our newest students and their families.
Building Connections: Foundation Students and Teachers Welcome Tillerkite Kinder Groups

The spirit of community extends beyond our current students. We are delighted to host three visits from the children of Tillerkite Kindergarten this week. As part of their preparation for transitioning to primary school next year, the Tillerkite children spent time with our Foundation students in the classroom. This was a wonderful opportunity for the future students to experience 'big school' firsthand and for our current Foundation students to share their knowledge about our school. Building these early connections helps to make the step up to primary school a smooth and exciting one
Exciting Learning Adventures for Our Foundation and Year 1/2 Students
This past fortnight, our students have been out and about on two highly engaging excursions, bringing their classroom learning to life:
Year 1/2 Students: Exploring Sustainability at CERES Our Year 1 and 2 students journeyed to CERES Community Environment Park in Brunswick. This excursion offered a hands-on, immersive experience focused on sustainability, the environment, and community living. The students absolutely loved getting their hands dirty, learning about where food comes from, and understanding how we can all care for our planet. They returned to school buzzing with ideas and a deeper appreciation for nature.
Foundation Students: Discovering Wonders at Twisted Science Our Foundation students had a truly memorable day at Twisted Science in Moorabbin. This trip was designed to spark curiosity and wonder through interactive science activities. From wild experiments to mind-boggling installations, the students were fully engaged in exploring basic scientific concepts in a fun, safe, and stimulating environment. It was fantastic to see their foundational learning in action and their faces light up with every new discovery.
These excursions are a vital part of our curriculum, offering unique opportunities for students to connect their in-class studies with real-world experiences. A huge thank you to the teachers for organising these wonderful trips and to our parent volunteers for their invaluable support.
School Discos - Get Ready to Party!
As the weeks fly by, there is a great deal to look forward to! The swimming program is on the horizon, providing valuable water safety and skill development for our students.
Most excitingly, we are pleased to confirm the dates for our highly anticipated Christmas-themed School Discos. Get those costumes ready for a night of music and fun:
| Junior Disco | Thursday, November 6th | 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm | Foundation to Year 2 |

My Absence
Please note that I will be absent from school from November 6th for approximately one week as I recover from a small, planned medical procedure. Our school will remain in excellent, capable hands during this time. Bernie Turner will be Acting Principal, supported by our experienced and dedicated Leadership Team. I have every confidence in their ability to ensure the smooth running of our school . I look forward to returning to school ready to continue working with our wonderful students and community towards the culmination of the 2025 school year.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our school.
Warm regards,
Sue
