From the Prefects...

Dear Kinross Wolaroi Families,
It has been a fantastic and fast-paced start to the term here at Kinross Wolaroi School! With summer sports in full swing and so many exciting events already underway, it’s been wonderful to see students learning both in the classroom and through co-curricular activities.
The Pink Stumps 24hr Walkathon held on Friday 31 October was a standout event as our community came together, raising over $20,000 for the McGrath Foundation. A huge thank you to Caitlyn Milne (Year 12) and Reverend Sally for organising such an important initiative and a massive congratulations to all the walkers whose dedication and compassion have helped raise both awareness and funds in support of those affected by breast cancer.
Our new Prefect Team had the opportunity to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference in Dubbo last week, where we explored different approaches to leadership and the qualities that make a great leader. It was an enjoyable and insightful day, offering valuable ideas about how to bring our plans for the year to life and strengthen all areas of school life. Not only did we gain inspiration from meeting other young leaders from across the Central West, but the experience also allowed us to come together and bond as a team.
We would like to extend our congratulations to the Class of 2025, who have now completed their final HSC exams. Their determination, perseverance, and positive attitude have been truly commendable, and we wish them all the very best in their future endeavours. We also send our best wishes to our junior students as they head into their examination periods and to Year 12, who begin their first round of assessment tasks.
This week, our community came together to mark Remembrance Day and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country. At 11am on Tuesday, we had a reading and prayer over the loudspeaker, followed by the Last Post, two minutes silence and the Reveille.
It’s been an exceptional start to the term, and we look forward to all that’s still to come!
Kind regards,
Ivy and Angus
