A Word from the Principal
Ms Kylie Campbell
It is not long to go now before the end of the term and so much to do. I’m sure that your families are very busy as well so we need to be on top of our calendars with so much happening.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all those families that came to the PFA’s Sports Blitz. Despite the weather, there was a lot of fun to be had as a community while also staying fit. The PFA raised around $800 which was a good effort with the weather and attendance. There were many medals won on the day for a variety of different events and many happy participants. Thank you PFA for organising a wonderful community event.

I have also had the great pleasure of sitting on the interviewing panel for our future Year 6 leadership team. It is an absolute honour to listen to our students speak and share their vision for the school and the role they potentially could play. Our leaders will be announced at the Christmas Concert next week.
After floods and heavy rainfall, mosquitoes can grow and spread in the pools of water left behind.
While the overall risk is low, some mosquitoes carry diseases that are spread through mosquito bites. Mosquitoes are more active at dusk and dawn, but some will also bite during the day.
The best way to prevent mosquito-borne diseases is to avoid mosquito bites.

On Tuesday we had a terrific PFA meeting and the team planned all of the events for 2026. While the focus is fundraising for the school, the PFA have also planned a main event each term. Several of the events will bring our community together….something which we are really good at doing.
The PFA are desperately looking for parents to join PFA so that we can continue to make our school incredible and create the best learning opportunities for all of our students. We have wonderful events planned for all students to enjoy and be a part of in 2026. If you would like to meet some lovely parents and really become a part of the school community then please come along and join in with some laughs and assist the school. The PFA also appreciates that people are very busy so even putting up your hand to help with an activity eg serving at the Bunnings BBQ would be a great support and assistance. If we don’t get support with the PFA then unfortunately the great events planned won’t go ahead.
Thank you to our PFA for the wonderful things that you do to support our school!
The fee and parent contribution documents and booklists were distributed to all of our families. This year you are being invited into the school to discuss your payments with our business manager who will be more than happy to assist you.
The option to independently source your own materials and supplies is available however for your convenience, the PFA will purchasing materials/the booklist for the school and do all of the hard work for you. The option is yours but the students need all of the items from the book list and they need to be bought into school on the very first day.
We continue to have issues with parents sourcing their own material and books again this year. It is absolutely critical that you purchase the correct size lines (which are actually dotted thirds) for the grade levels, maths grid books and the correct handwriting texts. Next year we will return everything that is incorrect back to you (incorrect sizing, brand or style) and you will need to purchase or exchange for the correct items.
Thanks to our PFA who are trying to support our families and make the process much more convenient while saving money.
The school year is ending soon and one of the wonderful things that Weeden does is allow students to work in their class, classroom and potentially with their new teacher for a couple of sessions. This allows for the teacher to begin some of the work for next year and establish the new learning environment and connecting with new peers is the goal. The number one priority is to create a productive and positive learning community!
These transition sessions days are critical for students to be involved in. Our sessions are being held on December 5 and 9 from 11.30 to 1.00.pm. These sessions provide students an opportunity to further strengthen their relationships with other students.
It is an extremely busy time so please be on top of our school calendar. There is:
Christmas Concert – Wednesday 3 December
First whole school transition session – Friday 5 December
Pupil Free day – Monday 8 December
Second whole school transition session & Year 7 Orientation Day – Tuesday 9 December
Graduation – 16 December
Graduation excursion – 17 December
Final assembly – 19 December with a 1.30pm finish
It is hard to believe it is that time of the year again but next week our community will come together to get into the Christmas spirit (and Sumer holiday mode!). I can hear the classrooms singing and rehearsing for the big event so please bring along your best singing voices and join in.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
