Term 3

We look forward to seeing you for Father's Day Breakfast next Friday from 8am.

Flourish

Last week some of our students performed at the Flourish Musical event at Toormina High School. We were super impressed with their performance. The talent that was displayed by Toormina High School and the Bongil Bongil Community of Schools was outstanding!

Year 4 Camp

On behalf of the entire community, a huge thank you to Mr Shipman, Mr Moore, Miss Ross and Mrs Carson-Ower for the outstanding care, effort and energy that has been provided to our 60 Year 4 students over the past 3 days on camp. The Cascade Environmental Education Centre is situated in the beautiful cool temperate rainforest of Cascade, 22 kilometres north east of Dorrigo, NSW. The Year 4 camp provides our students with educational opportunities in environmental sciences, sustainability and connecting with nature.

Tournament of Minds

This Sunday our TOM Team will compete at Coff Harbour Senior College, I got to preview their impressive performance this week and was most impressed with their teamwork, problem solving and enthusiastic presentation. Sincere thanks to Mrs Watt for her excellent leadership in this area of our HPGE work.

Boambee Debating Team

Congratulations to the Boambee Public School Debating team. Under the guidance of Ms Boyd this team has reached the regional finals, finally being knocked out today in a close debate today with Woodburn Public School. The girls made us very proud, becoming the premier debating team for the Mid North Coast.

Getting to Know our Wonderful Staff

Michele McGinty - School Learning and Support Officer (SLSO)

  • If you could travel anywhere, where would you go, and why ? Vancouver Island in British Columbia - to see the Bald Eagles come down the snowy mountains to hunt wild salmon.

  • If you could do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? ART -create stuff, paint, draw, sculpt etc.
  • Why did you want to work in education? I never dreamt I would, I started volunteering to be more involved in Jackson's education and discovered I really liked helping kids learn.
  • If you were to live anywhere (not in Australia) where would it be? Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
  • If you had to change jobs – what would you do? Be a Doctor.

  • What is your favourite sports team? Dallas Cowboys.
  • What’s the silliest thing you believed as a kid?  That rainbows would taste like lollies if you could catch some of it.
  •  If you had a magic whiteboard, what would you draw on it to come to life and help you teach?  Nothing, I trust my patience, the knowledge I've gained over time, my love for being happy and my life experiences to help me.
  • What’s your secret talent that no one would guess from just looking at you? Tools, I love Bunnings (I could work there, but I would have to bedazzle the uniform!), I got my first set of Pozidrive bits for 15th b/day.

  • If you could swap jobs with any animal for a day, what would you be and why? An eagle, they're strong, are apex predators so have a good chance of survival and they get to soar the skies and explore complete freedom.

P&C Meeting
