Year 3 to Year 6
Term 3 has been a season of growth, celebration, and deep learning across our Junior School. From Sacramental milestones to creative classroom projects, our students have been engaged in meaningful experiences that reflect both their academic and spiritual development.
We joyfully celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion with our Year 4 students. This sacred milestone was a beautiful expression of faith, supported by families, staff, and our parish community. The reverence and preparation shown by our students was truly inspiring, and we congratulate them on this important step in their spiritual journey.
Our Year 6 students are currently preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through prayer, reflection, and learning about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, they are deepening their understanding of what it means to live a life of faith and commitment. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with them and their families next Term.
Year 3 students have been busy collecting and analysing data through surveys, developing their skills in interpreting information. They’ve also been learning about the Wagyle serpent (Noongar Rainbow Serpent), enriching their understanding of local Aboriginal culture and storytelling. In Mathematics and Visual Arts, symmetry and diorama construction have sparked creativity and precision, with students proudly showcasing their imaginative designs.
Year 4 students have been exploring the geography of Australia, diving into topics such as states, capitals, and landmarks. Their literacy focus has included book reports and travel-themed writing, complete with student-created passports that have added a fun and immersive element to their learning.
Year 5 students have been immersed in reading and writing, producing thoughtful book reports that demonstrate their growing comprehension and analytical skills. Their enthusiasm for literature is evident in the way they discuss characters, themes, and plot developments with confidence and insight.
Year 6 students have been researching countries of interest, compiling reports filled with fascinating facts and cultural insights. Their work includes the construction of diagraphs and to visually represent their findings, showcasing their ability to communicate information effectively and creatively.
Across all year levels, the implementation of Talk for Writing has made a noticeable impact. Students are expanding their vocabulary, refining their grammar and punctuation, and producing writing of greater depth and quality. This approach is empowering students to become confident communicators and imaginative storytellers.
