Mission & Faith Life

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to our Year 4 students who received the Sacrament of Holy Communion this weekend. May the spiritual nourishment you receive from the Eucharist and the love of Jesus guide you always and strengthen your faith.

College Community Mass - Grandparents

Thank you to Fr Mark, all grandparents, students, staff, parents and carers who celebrated our Grandparents' Mass this week. It was wonderful to see so many from our community to gather and honour the incredible role grandparents play in our lives — as guides, storytellers, nurturers, and examples of faith.

LifeLink Day - Archbishop's Forum

Thank you to the wonderful group of six student across Year 7 to Year 11 who volunteered to attend the Secondary LifeLink Day Archbishop's Forum 2025. The LifeLink Day Archbishop's Forum is a special initiative that encourages students to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Church’s mission to support those in need. It aims to nurture a spirit of compassion, service, and social responsibility among young people.

The 2025 Archbishop’s Forum offered our students a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, participate in interactive activities, and collaborate with peers from other schools across the Archdiocese.

This year’s Forum centred on the Church’s celebration of the Year of Jubilee, with a focus on the call for all Catholics to be ‘Pilgrims of Hope’—living lives of faith, mercy, and justice. The keynote speaker – Archbishop Timothy Costelloe – spoke of the importance of always being a light of hope for others, especially those experiencing hardship.

Year 8 Retreat to New Norcia

Our Year 8 students recently visited New Norcia for their retreat day, connecting with the special history of our College patron, Bishop Rosendo Salvado, who founded the Benedictine mission there in 1847.

During the retreat, students explored The Salvado Way, reflecting on the virtues of Patience, Perseverance, Prudence, and Prayer, and how these guide them to be people of Peace, Justice, and Compassion. The theme, Infinite Threads: Connections in Space and Time, invited students to step away from their usual routines and discover the sacred connections between God, self, others, and creation in this unique setting.

Students took part in a variety of activities, including a Heritage Town Tour, learning about local Aboriginal culture through the 6 Seasons Panels and Prendiville Room, joining midday prayers with the Benedictine monks, and visiting the Museum and Art Gallery to appreciate historical artefacts and art.

The students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the retreat, finding it a meaningful time for reflection, prayer, and friendship-building. This experience deepened their understanding of Bishop Salvado’s legacy and the values that guide our College community.

A huge thank you to all of the staff who supported our students on this special day – Mr Stone, Mr McNulty, Mrs Burgoyne, Ms Burrows and Mr Thurkle.

Pope Francis' Monthly Prayer Intention

In August , we pray for mutual coexistence.

Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious, or ideological reasons.
