Respectful Relationships

Upcoming PEPS Respectful Relationships
You are invited to a Parent Education Partnership Session (PEPS) delivering information about Respectful Relationships. Respectful Relationships curriculum is delivered through Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) in every classroom, every week.
Respectful Relationships is a Victorian Government initiative that supports schools and early childhood settings to promote respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. The program is part of the curriculum and teaches children and young people how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
It aims to:
- Model respect and equality across the whole school community.
- Support social and emotional learning through explicit teaching.
- Address family violence prevention by promoting gender equality and respect in relationships.
- Build positive school cultures where all members feel safe, included and valued.
The program is delivered through the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) teaching and learning materials, aligned to the Victorian Curriculum from Foundation to Year 12. These resources help students develop skills in emotional literacy, personal strengths, positive coping, problem-solving, stress management, help-seeking, gender identity and positive gender relationships.
In practice, Respectful Relationships goes beyond the classroom. It is a whole-school approach, meaning schools work with students, staff, families and the wider community to embed respect and equality into everyday interactions, policies and practices.
Keep an eye out for what your child’s year level is covering from the RRRR in each newsletter.
