A Reminder About Parking & Drop-Off Procedures
Once again, we request that for the safety of our students and the smooth running of our school community, we kindly ask that all families strictly adhere to parking and drop-off/pick-up procedures:
No Stopping/No Standing Zones – Please respect signage at all times. These areas must remain clear for safety and access reasons. If a staff member asks you to move, just do it.
Student Entry & Exit – Children should always enter and exit from the passenger side (kerbside) of the car, never onto the roadway.
Disabled Parking Bays – These spaces are reserved at all times for vehicles with valid permits only.
Pick-Up Queue – At afternoon pick-up, please remain in the designated front-of-school queue and do not double park or overtake.
We ask that you relay this message to other family members responsible for drop-off or pick-up. Thank you to those who continually model patience and respect during these busy times. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep every student safe.
Book Week
Hope you have all got your Book Week costumes sorted for next Monday's Book Week. Make sure you check out the Book Week page in the Newsletter for full details.
District Athletics
We wish our athletics team well for Thursday's District Athletics Carnival at Moonee Ponds Athletics Track, and know they will represent our school with pride.
Footy Colours Dress Up Day
On Friday 5th September we will celebrate the AFL final series with our annual ‘Footy Colours Dress-Up Day’.
On this day children are invited to wear their favourite AFL team colours to school and I hope to see a sea of black and white (Go Pies!)
Father's Day Brekky
Also on Friday 5th September, we will kick off Father's Day Weekend (ha ha), with our Fathers’ Day Breakfast.
Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. and what better to serve Dad than a hot bacon and egg roll? Don’t forget to wear your Footy Colours to school (dads and children)!
Father's Day Stall
Following breakfast, our Father's Day Stall wil be in operation. Similar to Mother's Day it will be a little different this year so without giving too much away please note the followng:
Children will need to bring $5.00 to purchase their gift
For an additional $2 - $5 'top up' gifts will be available in some way, shape or form
To help these events run smoothly we will require the help of our parents so please keep an eye out for an Operoo form which will be sent out this week calling for volunteers.
School Hats
As per our Sun Smart Policy, children are required to wear either the school legionnaire’s hat or bucket hat (both Anti-Cancer Council approved) whenever they are outside from mid-August to the end of April.
Please ensure your child has their school hat each day so that they can participate fully during their PE classes and recess breaks. Now might be a good time to give those hats a wash!
School Closure Days
Please mark in your diaries the remaining School Closure Days for 2024 -
Monday 6h October: Staff Professional Learning
Monday 3rd November: Teacher Professional Practice Day
Tuesday 4th November: Melbourne Cup Public Holiday
Have a wonderful week
God Bless
