Mass of Assumption of Mary
Last week, our school came together to celebrate the Mass of the Assumption. It was a lovely gathering where we reflected on the life and faith of Mary and shared a special moment as a community.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all the parents, teachers, and students who joined us. Your presence made the day even more meaningful.
A special thanks to Father Jake for leading the Mass with warmth and care, and to our wonderful altar servers for their respectful and helpful service throughout.
We’re also grateful to everyone who helped behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly. It was a great reminder of the strength and spirit of our school community.
As we reflect on the Assumption of Mary, we’re reminded of her deep faith, trust in God, and willingness to say “yes” even when things were uncertain. May we carry those lessons with us in our own lives—choosing kindness, courage, and hope each day.
Father’s Day Breakfast & Mass – Friday, 5th September
We’re excited to invite all dads, grandads, and father figures to our annual Father’s Day Breakfast on Friday, 5th September! It’s a wonderful way to start the day together and celebrate the special role fathers play in our lives.
Breakfast kicks off at 8:00am – swing by for a delicious egg and bacon roll, a hot drink, and some great company. It’s a relaxed and friendly morning, and we’d love to see you there!
Following breakfast, we’ll gather for a Father’s Day Mass with our Year 4–6 students, a chance to reflect, give thanks, and celebrate the gift of family and faith.
We hope you can join us for this special morning – it’s one of the highlights of our school year!
Staff Spirituality Day
Spirituality Day – A Time to Pause, Reflect, and Reconnect
Last Wednesday, staff from St Francis of the Fields joined more than 3,000 colleagues from across Catholic Education Sandhurst to take part in a special Spirituality Day. The day offered a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with our faith and each other.
Held across multiple locations, the day began with an inspiring plenary session led by our very own Rev. Jake Mudge, Parish Priest of St Therese’s. His message invited us to reflect on the Jubilee Year theme, “Pilgrims of Hope,” reminding us that “You can’t be a pilgrim if you don’t have hope.”
The day continued with a series of workshops focused on Everyday Spirituality, offering practical ways to bring faith into our daily lives. We also explored the life and legacy of St Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan order and our school’s patron saint.
Another highlight was a session on Mother Teresa, whose simple yet powerful message —“Peace begins with a smile”— resonated deeply with all who attended.
The day concluded with time for personal reflection, allowing each of us to consider our own spiritual journey—both individually and as part of the St Francis of the Fields school community.
