National Computer Science School

Over the summer break Matthew and I attended the National Computer Science Summer School at The University of Melbourne. This program is open to students in year 10/11 going into year 11/12 with an interest in a career in IT and Computer Science. At the Summer School we participated in many activities including a programming competition, virtual reality, a scavenger hunt, trivia, and a cryptography competition where we got to compete against and work with like minded students and mentors as well as IT professionals from all around Australia. Additionally, we attended lectures from multiple university professors and guest speakers where we learnt about the Python programming language, binary search algorithms, and university opportunities. One of the best events was the site visits where we visited NAB, WiseTech Global and other companies. We got to experience living on campus in the dorms and have a taste of what university life will look like. Attending this program has given me invaluable experiences and insight into where my studies can take me into the future. Anyone interested in more information can contact me or visit the website. https://groklearning.com/ncss/
