Gold House News

Welcome Gold families, to the 2024 school year and a special welcome to all our new year 7 families to Gold. It is an exciting year, with the 7 SEALP group joining us. Both the 7A and 7G classes have settled in well, interacting positively to start the year. 7G will head off to camp on Monday to Tanybryn and 7A will be in week 4. I am looking forward to spending time with both groups and speaking to the students they are super excited also!

I would like to congratulate the terrific efforts of our year 12 cohort during their leadership camp in Aireys Inlet, to start the year. They were an outstanding bunch to work with demonstrating the values of Belmont High School in Respect of each other and the camp staff, Resilience in the challenges such as the Giant Swing and they really took the Opportunity with both hands, to set up their year positively and elect our leaders of Gold House 2024. I look forward to working with them closely throughout the year.

Celebrating our Gold Stars

Will Brown from 9G recently competed in the U17 Boys, at the Little Athletics State Championships. He was in the 4x100m, 4x200m & Medley Relay teams events. Will ran strongly in both the 4 x 100m and 4 x 200m events but unfortunately issues with baton changes saw the team just miss out on medals. The team gathered themselves for the Medley Relay, where the team runs 100m, 300m, 200m then 400m. Will again ran a good 300m leg and the team picking up silver! A big congratulations to Will and his team. #Goldstandard
