Senior Team

Wow, it has been a very busy few weeks in the Senior Team to round out 2023. It has seen new leaders announced for 2024, Graduation festivities for our current Year 6's as well as a lot of learning and assessment. Even though these last few weeks have been a whirlwind we couldn't be more proud of how the students have adapted and displayed the Ballan Primary Values throughout.

Miss L, Miss Muir and Mr Petersen would like to thank all of the Senior Team students for such an amazing year. We wish the grade 6's all the very best as they move into Secondary school. We look forward to seeing our Grade 4's and 5's next year for another big and exciting.

To all of our families we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, enjoy your break, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

Middle Years

What an amazing year we have had in the Middle Years Team! We have been reflecting on our year's highlights and there are so many ... too many, in fact, to name! Students really enjoyed the incursions we had, including The Wild Man & the BMX tricks guy, they especially loved camp and late stay, they remembered back to Term 1 and the great swimming program, adored doing SAKGP with so many delicious recipes and fun in the garden, loved Colour Fun Run/Book Week/Grandparents & Special Friends' Day .... and so much more. Students reflected on the HUGE amount of learning they achieved; what they found particularly helpful for their learning, including Essential Assessment program & their Mathematician's and Readers/Writer's Notebooks, and what they found challenging, but incredibly rewarding, like their dioramas and information displays for their 'Our Island Home' Expo. It has been a massive year for the Middle Years Team teachers too, with Mr. Heeps welcoming his 2nd child, Ms. A returning from a 6-month absence & cancer treatment, and now Mr. Barnett readying himself to set off on his overseas adventure! We have loved teaching this awesome bunch of students & are excited to see them again in the new year, and to hear about all the fun things they have been up to!  Thank you to our wonderful students and thank you to their amazing parents! We could not do what we do without you. Awesome teamwork! 🙏😁

Junior years

Wow – what a year it has been in the P-2 Team! It has been so wonderful to watch the growth of our youngest students in the school over the course of 2023 and we are so incredibly proud of how the Preps, Ones and Twos have represented Ballan Primary School. From our excursion to the Melbourne Museum to see the dinosaurs, to weekly Swimming in Ballarat and even at our weekly assemblies, the students have stepped up and shone, every time.

Thank you to our P-2 families as well, for supporting them and us, and making the relationship between home and school a successful one. We hope all of our families have a safe and wonderful Christmas and break.  We will see you in the new year!
