The 2024 Wellbeing Barometer Survey for parents

The Wellbeing Barometer survey from SchoolTV provids insights into the state of youth mental health and wellbeing for schools.

Its aim is to capture a comprehensive picture of young people's lives, allowing for a tailored approach to enhance mental and emotional wellbeing.

Participating in this year's survey, will assist in identifying areas of strength and concern, as well as pinpointing opportunities for early intervention for youth.

We encourage you to take a few moments to complete a survey for each of your children.

You can find more information and the survey here.

Keeping you connected with Kilvington

Camilla Fiorini, Director of Marketing and Development

'Community cannot for long feed on itself. It can only flourish with the coming of others from beyond, their unknown and undiscovered brothers and sisters.' - Howard Thurman

Welcome to or back to the Kilvington community. It’s wonderful to see our students on campus as well as family members. Our hope is that Kilvington offers you an opportunity to forge connections and enhance a sense of belonging for you and your family.

There are lots of ways to stay connected to the School and the community more broadly.

We have a very active and vibrant Parents and Friends Association (PFA) as well as Class Social Representatives (CSRs) at each year level. There are WhatsApp groups for each year level and your CSR is your go to person to get connected. Please refer to the PFA Report for further details.

Bianca Lapins is our Community Liaison Officer – lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au – and she can be contacted about any matters involving community events and other community-based activities.

The following are just some of the ways you can connect and find out more about what is happening at School.

KCEE – KILVINGTON’S LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This is your main go-to for information. For our new parents, KCEE is our Learning Management system where you can access and update information relating to your child including live academic results, calendar, events, activities and news. You can download the KCEE app from the App Store and set how you would like to receive notifications from us.

You will find KCEE support information on the left-hand side of your parent dashboard.

New parents will have received access details including log-in details prior to commencing the new year. If you haven’t, please contact our IT Department on 9578 6231.

CONSENT2GO

Consent2Go enables you to provide permission for your child to attend events and be photographed or filmed for Kilvington’s various platforms; update personal details; and, complete and update medical information. You will receive alerts together with a link from the School when you are required to provide any information.

SOCIAL MEDIA

OurKilvington Facebook  and Instagram pages are another way of staying in touch with events, activities and news. As mentioned, our Class Social Representatives (CSR) have also set up WhatsApp groups for particular classes/year levels. Please reach out to your CSR for further information.

ACCESS TO PARENT CONTACTS

You have the opportunity of opting in or out of class email lists that are used by CSRs to communicate with you about social opportunities. Please let our Community Liaison Officer, Bianca Lapins, lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au know if you do not wish to be contacted by your CSRs for these opportunities.

PUBLICATIONS

And, of course, you will receive the School newsletter – In the Know – every fortnight. You will also receive KNews, the School magazine, mid-year and the Kilvonian, the student yearbook, at the end of the year.

We are always open to feedback on how we can better communicate with you. Feel free to contact me via fiorinic@kilvington.vic.edu.cau or Bianca via lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au, with your questions, ideas or issues.

Camps, sports and  excursions fund (CSEF)

CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities. If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF (see attached flyer).

Families who received this funding last year don’t need to reapply as they automatically continue to receive it in 2024. For more information, please contact Belinda Collins via collinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au.
