School Highlights

Welcome back to School

Thank you to all who attended our Parent Welcome Morning Teas during the first week back. It was amazing meeting our new and returning parents and guardians.

A special welcome to the new students starting with us this year. In particular, a big 'well done' to our Prep students who are taking their first steps on their schooling adventures.

Year 7 start to Science

Alexandra Kress, Science Teacher

This week, our Year 7 Science classes learnt all about lab safety as well as how to record clear scientific observations and make accurate inferences.

Students were also able to participate in a spectacular experiment that involved methane bubbles and fire!

They could choose to hold the methane bubbles and have them lit on fire ... right off of their hands! Students observed the heat on their hands, the fragility of the bubbles, the smell of the gas and the excitement of trying something new.

Science experiments can spark wonder and curiosity for all ages and abilities and be a lot of fun under the proper safety precautions. This was a fantastic introduction to the wonderful world of Senior School Science at Kilvington.
