Niangala Public School were excited to welcome the five kindergarten students last week. The children have been busy with Best Start testing and getting used to the routine of 5 days a week of learning.
Welcome to Charney, Elsie, Holly, Joey and Chyler and to their families. We look forward to wonderful year ahead.
On Friday 9 February Niangala joined with Woolbrook and Yarrowitch for the annual Wild Rivers Alliance Small School's Swimming Carnival. Twenty four children came together for the day. Eight children competed by swimming 100m, 50m and 25m events whilst the remainder of the children enjoyed events in the wading pool. Thank you to the parents and staff for a terrific day. Special mention to Yarrowitch Public School for being the event convenor and organising the day for us to all compete and enjoy.
Congratulations to Chaise Gibson - Senior Boy Champion 2024.
Chaise swam in the 100m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle/Backstroke/Breaststroke & Butterfly, Medley event and a 50m leg of the relay.
Valerie and Chanse swam in the 25m events and then also swam a 50m lap for the relay. Well done to you all for your efforts and achievements.
Tuesday afternoons have been very busy with the girls in our school attending the Women in Sport program held here at school with Ally from Centacare.
The girls have been learning about rules and fairness in games, playing in a team, fundamental movement skills along with some other skills and strategies along the way.
The boys in our school have been working on construction and the skills of perseverance, persistence and patience through LEGO construction. We will continue with LEGO for another couple of weeks but we also have some other surprise projects in the pipeline.
