Welcome Back

We would like to welcome everyone back to a new school year. We hope you all had a great break. We as a team are looking forward to getting to know our new students and continuing to support all our returning students. This year is looking to be a great year so please keep an ear out for any announcements or upcoming events.

Yarn Up

In week 4 we held our first Yarn Up for the year, this was a great evening where staff, students, their families and community got a chance to mingle with each other and build relationships to help support our students. A huge thank to everyone who showed up to support our students!

We also held our very first Senior Yarn Up where parents and students got to meet up with their mentors and chat to Pam Widders about her role as community connector and how we can all help to support our students. 

Tutoring

Tutoring for our year 11 and 12 students is happening again this year if you have any question or would like you child to be involved, please contact Alicia or Skye in the AB-ED staffroom.

Lyambay Dance

To start off the year of Lyambay Dancers attended a online workshop with Bangara Dance Company. Our dancers had an amazing time learning, and we can’t wait to see what this year holds for them. 

Sophia-Rose Markham

We would like to say congratulations to Sophia-Rose Markham who has been named as this years’ Lions Club Youth of the Year for our region! Here she is pictured receiving her award. 

Farewell Aunty Carol

At assembly this week we said farewell to Aunty Carol who after an amazing career is retiring from public education. Aunty Carol has been someone who we all have been able to listen to, learn from and inspire us all. We will miss you and wish you best of luck in whatever comes next!
