Principal Team Updates
from everyone's desk.
Welcome back to Term 2. It has been a busy and positive start to the term, with students quickly and calmly settling back into their routines. Students have eagerly engaged in their new units of study and also been engaging in learning focused on the upcoming ANZAC remembrance, developing their understanding of the significance of ANZAC Day and the values it represents.
A reminder that our special ANZAC Assembly will be held tomorrow in the stadium at 2:45pm, and families are warmly invited to attend.
For me, it is a pleasure to be back from leave. I would like to sincerely thank Assistant Principal Julie Reid, Acting Principal, and Angela Stevens, Business Manager, for their leadership of the school during my absence. I would also like to thank and acknowledge our Assistant Principals, Curriculum and Operations Leaders, teachers and support staff for ensuring the school continued to run so smoothly.

Today I was notified by ResourceSmart Schools that our nomination of Mr Steve Crook, in the category of Teacher of the Year, has seen him acknowledged as one of three finalists !
The award recognises sustainability educators who are embedding sustainability into the school’s curriculum and activities, fostering connections beyond the school gate and contributing to tangible impacts on the school’s sustainability program. You can read of Steve's nomination here:
Steve Crook is the driving force behind this 4 Star school’s sustainability success. He transformed the school environment, regenerating it into a thriving native habitat with yarning circles that strengthen learning and connection to Country.
In science, he explores sustainability through inquiry-based learning. Students maintain the school’s frog bog and analyse biodiversity in their native gardens.
Steve has built meaningful partnerships with the broader community to strengthen environmental leadership at the school. He collaborates with Interchange Outer East, where adults with disabilities work alongside Sustainability Club students as they care for the school farm. This initiative promotes inclusion, knowledge-sharing and care for the environment. Steve has created lasting community connections and a sustainability program with impacts beyond the classroom.
We look forward to hearing of Steve's nomination at the awards ceremony at the MCG on June 11.

It has been an absolute pleasure to show of our great school on school tours this week. Current and new families for 2027 Prep are invited to book a tour.
Enrolments are now open with the school encouraging current families with younger siblings to complete their online application at their earliest convenience, CLICK HERE; the sooner the better, as it helps us with our enrolment management!
