The above completion dates may seem far away, but they will be fast upon us, so it is very important that students be working on both PROJECT and PORTFOLIO consistently between now and then. As a guide, students are expected to work at least one hour a week on the portfolio.
Thank you to Mr Storey and his students Claire, Ryan, Matt and Josh who attended Open Night to work on their major projects giving our community an insight into our Stage 6 Industrial Technology Timber.
A heartfelt thank you to Edward and Leteasha for showcasing their exceptional bread-making skills during Open Night by crafting delicious focaccia. Our community had the pleasure of tasting their freshly made bread while exploring our industry-standard kitchen and state-of-the-art industrial appliances in action.
Shoes
All students require fully covered black leather shoes to participate in the kitchens and workshops for Work Health and Safety requirements. Students in incorrect footwear are unable to participate and will be set alternate theory work in another supervised class.
Textiles
Year 7 students who have been studying the 'Material and Production Processes: Textiles' rotation have had the opportunity this term to sample some fabric decoration techniques such as Applique and Hand Stitching, Tie-dye, Iron on Vinyl, Paint Stick & Couching. They now get to choose at least 2 of these techniques to design and create a recyclable shopping bag that meets the design criteria given to them. Below are some of the Hand Stitching and Applique samples they have been working on in class.

Digital and Communication Technologies
Our Year 7 students have been diving into the world of digital technology. So far, they’ve explored computer hardware, cyber security, and have started learning coding skills.
Students will put these skills into action for their Assessment Task - due in terms 2, where they will design and code their very own arcade game using Microsoft MakeCode, a free, online platform that makes coding games fun and accessible.
Students are creating unique characters and building their game logic step by step, while documenting their process in a folio that explains how their game works. We’re looking forward to seeing their creativity come to life.

Engineered Technologies and Systems
Our engineers were tasked this term with constructing a marble run, catapult, slingshot car and roller coaster. These tasks needed to include principles of engineering learned in class.
This term, our Year 7 Engineering Technologies and Systems classes had a wonderful and unique opportunity to participate in a free incursion delivered by UNSW on Monday, 16th March 2026.
The UNSW Makerbus team worked with students to make a lantern project, where students built their own night light.
This exciting project involved skills in coding, hardware assembly, and construction.
