Child Safety at Moama Anglican Grammar

Child Safe Standard 6 – Responding to Complaints

Continuing our focus on the NSW Child Safe Standards, this month we are highlighting Standard 6: Processes to Respond to Complaints of Child Abuse (or other concerns) are Child-Focused. This standard ensures that all complaints or concerns are managed with the safety and well-being of children and young people as the highest priority. At Moama Anglican Grammar, we are committed to building a culture where students feel safe to speak up, families are confident that their concerns will be taken seriously, and staff are equipped to respond appropriately and effectively.

Some of the ways we meet this standard include:

  • Creating a culture where any complaint raised by students or staff is taken seriously, and where every adult accepts responsibility for the safety of our students.
  • Providing staff with clear guidance, training and resources on how to raise concerns and make reports, including information about the relevant external authorities.
  • Making sure staff, students and families know the options and processes available for making complaints through professional development, posters, diary activities and newsletter articles.
  • Using a centralised reporting system to support staff in raising concerns and completing mandatory reports.
  • Ensuring that our complaints-handling procedures are publicly accessible on the school’s website.
  • Empowering students to have a voice in how complaints can be made and how they can access support, including external agencies such as Kids Helpline.
  • Handling all complaints and concerns with confidentiality and care.

The NSW Child Safe Standards were developed to ensure schools not only meet their legal obligations but also actively place the safety and wellbeing of every student at the centre of all they do. At Moama Anglican Grammar, we view this responsibility as a core part of who we are, and we remain deeply committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for every student.

If you have any queries about child safety at our school, please do not hesitate to contact me at kkemp@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au or one of our Executive Team.

2026 MAG Yearbook Cover Artwork Competition

This year, our Yearbook Cover Competition is running a little differently – we're not asking for a full cover design, just your best artwork! We’re looking for vibrant, eye-catching pieces to feature on the 2025 Yearbook cover, whether it’s something new or a favourite you’ve already created.

Entries are open to all students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Artwork should be A4 size, in portrait orientation, and free of any writing or logos (we’ll add the school logo later). You can work digitally or on paper, and the more colour, the better! Be sure to write your name and year level on the back, and submit your artwork by Friday 19 September (Week 9, Term 3).
