From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Families,

As I write my final newsletter after 41 years in education and 17 wonderful years here at St Bernard’s, my heart is full of gratitude, reflection, and warmth.

It has been a true privilege to serve this amazing school community. Your children have brought joy, laughter, curiosity, and inspiration into my days, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have played a role in their early learning journey. Watching them grow, not just academically, but in confidence, kindness, and spirit, has been one of the greatest honours of my career.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff both past and present —teachers, support and administration staff, and all who work to make our school such a nurturing and vibrant place. Their commitment and care for every child has made St Bernard’s the special place it is.

I would also like to express my deep appreciation to Fr Leo for his support, guidance, wisdom, and presence in the life of our school.

To all of you—our parents and families—thank you for your trust, your support, and your partnership over the years. The collaboration between school and home is powerful, and your involvement has made such a positive difference in your children’s lives and in the life of our school.

To members of the BPC and School Advisory Council, you really have exemplified our school motto ’Loves Serves’ through your constant support of the school. Your hard work, wise and considered counsel, good humour and dedication is very much appreciated.

I have been overwhelmed with beautiful, thoughtful messages, cards and gifts and am very humbled by your generosity.

As I step into retirement, I do so with a full heart, proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited for what lies ahead for St Bernard’s. I know the school will continue to thrive under the leadership of passionate and capable educators. Thank you for the memories, the joy, the fun and the privilege of being part of this remarkable community.

From the bottom of my heart, thankyou for everything.

Joanne
