We came out being 3rd in our pool and only just missing out on the finals. Well Done to Lani, Abby D, Ella, Emily G, Emily L, Selah, Mila, Darcie and Jojo, We am so proud of you.
State Finals 🏆
Girls Eastern Region Football – ACPS Are Champions!
On Tuesday 11 August, our amazing ACPS Girls Football team represented the Manningham Division at the Eastern Region Girls AFL Championships – and what a day it was!
In the opening rounds, our girls were unstoppable:
- ACPS 64 – 14 Mt Scopus
- ACPS 43 – 22 Belgrave South
ACPS 49 – 20 Eastwood Primary
These strong performances secured us a spot in the Grand Final against the undefeated St Michael’s Primary. The game was intense, with both sides showing incredible skills and determination. At half time, ACPS held a narrow lead – ahead by just one goal.
With grit, teamwork, and a “never give up” attitude, our girls powered through the second half.
The final siren sounded, and the scoreboard told the story – ACPS 47 – 24 St Michael’s.
Our girls were crowned Eastern Region Champions!
The victory means ACPS is now heading to the State Finals at La Trobe University, where the top eight school teams in Victoria will compete for the title of State Champions.
A huge congratulations to our team for their hard work, sportsmanship, and ACPS spirit. We are so proud of you – bring on the State Finals!
Thank You, Mrs Hansen
Over the past four weeks, Grade 6S has been lucky to have Mrs Hansen join our class for her teaching placement. She has brought energy, creativity, and a warm approach to her lessons, engaging students in exciting learning opportunities and encouraging them to always do their best.
Mrs Hansen quickly became a valued part of our classroom community, building strong connections with students and sharing her passion for teaching. Her positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges have left a lasting impression on us all.
On behalf of the students and staff at Andersons Creek Primary School, we thank Mrs Hansen for her hard work and dedication during her time with us. We wish her all the very best in her future teaching career — any school will be lucky to have her!
Homework
Homework plays a vital role in reinforcing concepts taught in class, developing independent study habits, and fostering a sense of responsibility. It provides an opportunity for students to practice skills, consolidate their understanding, and prepare for future learning.
This year, all homework tasks for Grade 5 and 6 will be set and managed through Google Classroom. This platform allows for easy access to assignments, resources, and feedback, making it convenient for both students and parents.
Generally, the Homework tasks will be sent out on Tuesdays.
Typically, homework will include a mix of:
- Numeracy tasks: To strengthen mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Spelling tasks: To build vocabulary and improve accuracy in written work.
- Literacy tasks: Such as reading comprehension, creative writing prompts, or grammar exercises.
We encourage you to support your child by providing a quiet space for homework and by showing interest in their learning. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the tasks or how to navigate Google Classroom.
Mr Smith, Miss Black, Mrs Beattie and Mrs Misra.
