Principal's Message
Mr Daniel O'Malley | Interim Principal
With the mid-term break approaching, and the busy patch of assessments and upcoming events gaining momentum, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the vibrant life of our
College community and the value that's shaping our focus this term: Courage.
We've had a full and joyful few weeks here at The King's College. From the cheers at the Primary School Cross Country and Secondary Athletics Carnival, to the creativity and flair on display at King's Got Talent and Book Week – what a wonderful array of opportunities for students to step out, get involved, and try something new. And it's in those moments that courage often shines brightest.
Courage doesn't always look like standing on a stage or crossing a finish line first. Often, it's much quieter. It's the Year 7 student who signs up for an event they've never tried before. It's the child who wears their book character costume with pride, even when it feels a little silly. It's the young person who speaks up for what's right or who keeps going when learning feels tough. Every day, our students show courage in countless small ways – and we couldn't be prouder.
In the Bible, God encourages Joshua with these words: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." – Joshua 1:9
This verse reminds us that courage isn't about never feeling fear or uncertainty – it's about choosing to move forward with faith, even when those feelings are present. As a College, we want to nurture that kind of courage in our students – a courage that is grounded in the knowledge that God is with them in every step.
Looking ahead, there's still much to come this term. We're excited for the Primary Athletics Carnival, Year 11 Camp, YohFest, Year 10 Work Experience, Year 9 Camp, and of course, OLNA. Each of these presents new chances for growth – and more opportunities for students to demonstrate courage in action.
Thank you for the way you continue to support your children, our staff, and the wider TKC community. I'm looking forward to what the rest of the term will bring.
Warm regards,
Daniel O'Malley
