Diocesan Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 7th August, 41 students from St Ed’s will represent our school at the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth. Please ensure your child arrives at the track by 8.15am, dressed in full sports uniform ready to be marked off by Mrs Gippel.

We recommend packing ample food and water for the day; a canteen will also be available for additional refreshments.

We wish all our athletes the very best!

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

NSW State netball titles.

On the first weekend of the school holidays Isaac Heywood, Ivy Allan (playing for Quirindi) Charlotte Steel and Emma McMahon (playing for Tamworth) travelled to Sydney for the NSW State Netball Titles. They all put in a massive effort playing 21 games over three days, showing excellent sportsmanship and displaying great netball skills.

Isaac, Ivy and the rest of the Quirindi team ended up coming 4th in their division; while the Tamworth girls showed great resilience against some tough teams in their division.

Basketball

Please find lists for the St Edward’s basketball teams for the Tamworth Basketball Association in 2025 Primary School Comp Two. The draw will be released closer to the starting date of Thursday 7th August.

Any new player can purchase their St Edward’s Basketball uniform from the Canteen (via the Compass App).

We are also still looking for some additional players for a number of teams. If you’d like to sign up, please contact the email below.

If you have any queries or would like to coach a team without a coach listed, please contact noneill@arm.catholic.edu.au

Penrith Netball

Congratulations to everyone who trialled for the Netball Trip to Penrith. We are fortunate to be able to send 5 teams this year so that everyone who trialled can attend. To enable this to happen, some students will play in a different team to the one they play in on the weekend. Please keep an eye out on compass for an event, with more information next week.

Kind regards

Ms Caitlin Holman (St Edward’s School Netball Coordinator)

Please keep a lookout for these in your cupboards, school bags, dirty clothes baskets, even under beds. We are still missing a considerable number of shirts, which will be required to be handed back in this term.
