VET Cookery – Christmas in July Red Hatters lunch
At the very end of Term 2, our talented VET Cookery students showcased their skills by preparing a Christmas in July lunch for the spirited ‘Red Hatters’ group. The menu featured a traditional roast with beef and turkey, with all the trimmings, complemented by freshy baked focaccia. For dessert, guests indulged in classic Eton mess and sticky date puddings.
This event has become an annual addition to the calendar for a number of years. It is an invaluable hands-on experience for our students, allowing them to apply their culinary training in a real-world setting. The Red Hatters expressed their gratitude, assuring us they’d be back for future events, and surprising the students and staff with a gift of chocolates.
A heartfelt thank you our dedicated staff: Fiona, Kylie, Rachel and Flynn, for guiding the students and ensuring the event’s success. Events like these not only enrich our students’ learning journey but also strengthen community ties.
