Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,
Whoops! I have completely forgotten to complete my page on the newsletter. I realise you have all been wondering what has happened this week 😊
Please accept my sincere apology.
Welcome back to term 3. I hope you and your children are well rested and you have all had a happy mid-year break. Students have told me about trips to sunnier climates, as well as trips to the snow. A real mix of adventures.
This term we will be resetting and starting the second half of the year. Reports that went out at the end of last semester may have looked a little different due to the new curriculum criteria. The usual spot for following up on reports after semester 1 would be week 2. This term we are moving the parent night to week 7. In week 7 we will run 3-way conferences for you and your child. This will help steer us clear of student support group meetings (lessening the load on some families) and it will make the conversations more relevant to students and their portfolios. Information on dates and when to book will be shared in week 3.
We have only been back a week, and we already have had students attend division netball and T-ball. Congrats to those teams who have won their round and moved to regional finals. Grade 56 also attended Hoop Time.
Grade 1 and 2 students have also attended Quantum (STEM centre). They completed 'Forces in Action' and 'Pixel Adventures'. Students and teachers have come back enthused from the sessions.
Although a short term ahead we have lots of fun activities and events to look forward to:
- 100 days of Prep
- Science week
- QV print a car challenge
- Swimming weeks
- Literacy and Numeracy week
- Book fair
- Book week and parade (remember to keep encouraging reading and the Premier's Reading Challenge)
- Double weeks of assembly 34S on 8th August and 2BV on the 15th August
- Grade 2 Hand on Science incursion
- Father's Day stall
Best wishes,
Craig
