Principal's Message

Wawa, Wominjika.

Here at Old Orchard Primary School, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we visit each day, the Wurrunguri and Woiwurrung people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge and respect the elders and leaders past and present and the elders and leaders of all of the cultures and nationalities that are part of the Old Orchard Primary School community. We express our gratitude towards the orchards that were kept in place by the peoples on this land before us. We thank the traditional owners for sharing this beautiful land that we all love, and for keeping the land, sky, waterways and animals all in great condition for thousands of years, not only for themselves but for all the generations to come.

100 Days of Prep

What a colourful and exciting day we had in our Prep classes yesterday, with staff and students embracing the theme of ‘100 days brighter.’ The students had a fantastic day of learning and special activities as well as enjoying the magical walk through the beautifully decorated Prep corridor. Thank-you to our wonderful Prep teachers, Beth, Milly and Nan for their great work throughout the year and for making the day such a special one. Thanks also to our amazing Old Orchard parents who made sure that our students looked even brighter than ever!

Year 3 & 4 Playground

The Year 3 & 4 playground was open for business yesterday and the feedback from students was extremely positive. The new elements of the playground presented new and interesting challenges for our students, enabling them to explore and extend themselves safely.

While the playground is designed specifically for Year 3 & 4 students, we know that younger children will be keen to use it outside of school hours on weekends and after 3.45pm. We ask that parents and carers monitor their children and ensure that they are using the equipment safely. (Note that climbing on top of the enclosed slide is strictly forbidden!)

Magic Show

Our PFA has been extremely active this year and done a wonderful job organising and running many events. Tonight we have Luke the Magician performing two sold out shows in Drayton Hall - it promises to be a fantastic, fun-filled and magical evening.

Warm regards

Duncan
