Hayley Brown- School Captain

This year has truly been one to remember, not only because it’s our final year at Thomas Reddall High, but also because of the incredible opportunities that have came with being a school captain. Looking back on the journey so far, I feel so grateful to have been part of events and experiences that brought our school community together.

The Colour Run was definitely a highlight,  seeing everyone laugh, get messy, and just enjoy being in the moment reminded me why these memories will stay with us long after Year 12 ends. Being part of the SRC has also given me the chance to step into leadership in ways I never imagined.

Whether it’s taking part in school activities, having a voice in decisions, or being able to represent my peers, I’ve learned how much of an impact teamwork and leadership can have. These experiences have shaped me into a better role model, and I hope they’ve shown younger students that getting involved really does make a difference. Now, as graduation in September draws closer, the excitement is real. It feels like everything we’ve worked toward over the years is finally coming together. While it’s bittersweet to think about leaving, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share this journey with.

This year has been full of challenges, growth, and so many memories  and I’m proud to say it’s been one of the best experiences of my life.

As school captains, we’ve had the privilege of representing Thomas Reddall High this year, and it’s something neither of us will ever forget. The support, encouragement, and trust from both staff and students have made our journey so meaningful, and we are truly grateful to have been given this opportunity. Now, with graduation just around the corner, it’s hard not to feel a mix of emotions. There’s so much excitement for the future and pride in how far we’ve come, but also a little sadness knowing that soon this chapter will close. The friendships, the memories, the lessons learned, and the moments we’ve shared as a year group will always stay with us. We couldn’t have asked for a better school community to grow with and lead, and we’ll carry the spirit of TRHS with us wherever we go next.

Thank you for being part of our journey , this is not just an ending, but the beginning of something new.

Manni Rattanavong- School Captain

I am Manni Rattanavong,  your school captain of Thomas

Reddall High School. This year has been one of the most transformative and memorable chapters of my school journey. Entering Year 12 felt surreal at first and I thought I had a lot of responsibility to fulfill as a senior at TRHS.

There’s definitely a certain weight that comes with being in our final year. It’s not just about the academics or preparing for exams; it’s about legacy, leadership and making the most of every moment before we step into the next phase of our lives. From the very first day, I’m sure all of the year 12’s felt a mix of excitement and pressure. There’s a constant awareness that everything we do now counts, not just for our future pathways but for the memories we’ll carry with us and not saying that the previous years doesn't count but this year feels different. It’s the culmination of everything we’ve worked toward, the year where we truly step up, leave our mark and celebrate how far we’ve come.

As part of the SRC, I got to experience the SRC Networking days which really led to amazing opportunities to learn and connect with other schools. I got to see how other leaders approach challenges and represent their peers. These experiences gave me valuable insights into different styles of leadership and reminded me of the importance of listening, collaboration and teamwork. They also inspired me to reflect on the type of leader I want to be, both in school and beyond. We really enjoyed the colour run, seeing everyone let go of the stress for once and just having a little fun is what really makes our school uplifted. The very best part of the day was of course sliming Mr Lugg. Everyone laughing, celebrating and enjoying the moment reminded me just how special our TRHS community really is. Events like these don’t just create memories, they strengthen the bond we share as a school and show the value of unity and fun.

Being given the chance to represent Thomas Reddall High School as a school captain has been an absolute honour with my fellow SRC members supporting us with new and fresh ideas to make the school a better environment for everyone. I’m grateful for the trust shown by staff and students and I hope the work we’ve done this year has left a positive mark. As this year comes somewhat close to an end, I look forward to the next and I know the spirit of TRHS will continue to guide me and my peers wherever we go next.
