An update from our Year Advisers

Term 3 has been a vibrant and rewarding time for our Year 7 students. They represented the school with enthusiasm and sportsmanship during their Year 7 Gala Day, forming new friendships and embracing the spirit of teamwork. In the classroom, students have continued to engage positively across all subjects, demonstrating curiosity and a strong commitment to learning.

It’s also been fantastic to see so many Year 7 students consistently wearing their uniform with pride, showing respect for themselves and the school community.

A highlight this term was the Colour Run for Anti-Bullying Week, where students united for an important cause while having a great time. Their energy and sense of community were on full display.

Students had a great day at T-RED Day, which was a fun-filled celebration with games, activities, and plenty of laughter to end the term on a high note!

Term 3 has been an exciting and rewarding term for our Year 8 students, packed with celebration, culture, achievement, and community spirit.

At the end of last term, select students were recognised for their outstanding academic efforts and positive behaviour with an action-packed session of Bubble Soccer. It was a fun and well-deserved reward for students who consistently demonstrate the values we uphold at TRED.

This term, Year 8 students have continued to shine, actively participating in key school events that build awareness, inclusion, and a strong sense of community. Highlights included:

  • NAIDOC Week- Celebrating the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Anti-Bullying Week- Promoting kindness, respect, and safe school environments for all.
  • Wear It Purple Day- Supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and the importance of being proud of who you are.
  • R U OK? Day- Encouraging meaningful conversations around mental health and checking in on one another.

Looking ahead, students are eagerly anticipating TRED Day in Week 10, a school-wide celebration of the diversity, culture, and values that make our school community so special. Select students have been awarded ‘Tokens’ for demonstrating our TRED values throughout the term. These tokens can be used on TRED Day to purchase food and enjoy games as part of their end-of-term reward.

This term also provided enriching opportunities for students to expand their learning and connect with peers through:

  • Math Olympiad- Challenging and exciting problem-solving tasks.
  • Project Based Learning- Real-world learning experiences encouraging creativity and collaboration.
  • Year 8 Gala Day- A day of teamwork, sport, and fun.
  • Ohana and NASCA Cultural Programs- Ongoing initiatives that celebrate and strengthen cultural identity and community.

All these events highlight what makes TRED more than just a school- it’s a place where every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to be their best self. Students also selected their subjects this Term, at Subject Selection Night, for Year 9 as they move in to Stage 5, how time flies!

We are proud of all our Year 8 students and finishing the term strong with TRED Day celebrations was highlight!

Year 9 have had a busy and successful term.

On Thursday 19th June, 29 Year 9 students visited the Optus Business Centre in Macquarie Park where they engaged in a Generative AI and online safety workshop. This session provided insights into the evolving digital landscape, emphasising the significance of online safety in the age of artificial intelligence. The students who attended were fantastic representatives for TRED and actively took part in the workshops and activities.

On Tuesday 24th June, 45 students from Years 9 and 10 attended the Term 2 reward excursion for to recognise their consistent attendance and positive attitude towards learning throughout the term. We visited Event Cinemas Macarthur Square where we watched ‘How to train your dragon’. The students were fine representatives of Thomas Reddall High School and enjoyed their day at the movies.

Year 11 had a fantastic final term filled with exciting milestones and celebrations. As part of our attendance reward, the year group enjoyed an action-packed day of go-karting, which was a brilliant way to come together and celebrate their hard work.

We also made history as the very first year group to ride on the new school bus, an experience everyone enjoyed and will remember! Another highlight was the captaincy process for 2026; candidates delivered thoughtful and inspiring speeches that impressed both staff and students. The group showed real teamwork and leadership potential, and we are eagerly awaiting the announcement of our new captains.

Finally, congratulations go to all our award winners who were recognised for their improved effort, consistent commitment, or excellence in a subject, a fantastic achievement to end the term on a high.

A final update from Year 12,

From the Year Advisor - I cannot put into words how incredibly sad I am for our cohort to leave. The growth that they have had over the last six years has been an absolute pleasure to watch. Their confidence has grown and it's been lovely to see them come together and work for the things they want.

Our fundraising has been successful enough to pay for lots of extras at the formal and we cannot wait to attend Picnic Day at Archie Brothers this year - those claw machines better watch out, they're about to be emptied!

From Year 12 2025 - To every student remaining, we wish you all the best in the rest of your high school journey. Always remember to be safe, be respectful and be learners...AND BRING A PEN TO SCHOOL!

We will miss you all when we graduate and hope we have helped you.
