Principal Address

As we draw to the close of an incredibly busy and rewarding Term 3 at Thomas Reddall High School, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful achievements and events that have shaped our school community over the past few months.
The staff began term with professional learning dedicated to deepening our knowledge, respect and understanding for Aboriginal culture and histories. As a school we are committed to embedding Aboriginal perspectives into our teaching and learning programs and promoting a school wide ethos of cultural responsiveness. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Bullock, Cameron, and our dedicated Aboriginal Education Team for delivering an outstanding NAIDOC ceremony. Their passion and commitment continue to drive Aboriginal Education at T-RED, enriching our understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures.
Our Wellbeing Team has also shone brightly this term under the leadership of Mrs. Hutchinson, engaging all students in a thoughtful and impactful Anti-Bullying Week program. A special mention goes to the team for organising the vibrant Colour Run and for facilitating the memorable visit from Kelly and Matt, the founders of the Charlotte’s Wish Foundation. Their story deeply resonated with our students and reinforced our school’s unwavering commitment to preventing and managing all instances of bullying. I encourage all students to report any concerns immediately to their Year Adviser or a Deputy Principal.
In addition, our Wear it Purple Day event was a powerful celebration of diversity and inclusion. We proudly stand with and support our LGBTQAI+ community at T-RED, fostering a school environment where every student feels safe and valued. Mr Norman organised learning activities and a break time disco DJ’d by Year 11. I was thrilled with student and staff support and participation.
Our R U OK? Day activities led by Mrs. Enthaler further highlighted our dedication to mental health awareness and support. It was inspiring to see so many students and staff engage in meaningful conversations about wellbeing and resilience.
Looking ahead, we are gearing up with great excitement for TRED Day, a vibrant celebration recognising the multicultural and diverse community that makes our school unique and strong. This year our focus is on bringing our community together to learn about the different cultures represented within our school. I am excited by the outstanding program Mrs. Fretwell has put together and the student performances we will see on the day. Our school is incredibly lucky to have an abundance of students brave and proud to perform, I cant wait to see it all come together.
As Term 3 concludes, we also wish our Year 12 students a fond farewell and the very best of luck in their HSC examinations. Your hard work and determination have been exceptional, and we are all cheering you on as you take this next important step.
Finally, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all our teachers and support staff. Your dedication and passion for education continue to inspire our students and make Thomas Reddall High School a place of growth and opportunity.
Thank you all for a fantastic term. I look forward to seeing what Term 4 holds for our incredible community.
