News from School Council

Hello DPS families,

I'm Andrew Hurley and this is my fourth year on School Council.

Being on school council has given me insights into how a school operates behind the scenes. Some of the best things about being on the school council include:

  1. Making a difference: You have the power to influence decisions and improve school life for everyone.
  2. Representing your peers: It feels rewarding to be the voice of the parents and ensure their concerns are heard.
  3. Collaborating with others: You work closely with teachers and administrators, building strong relationships.
  4. Organizing events and initiatives: You get to plan and lead events, from fundraisers to school activities, which can be both fun and fulfilling.
  5. Learning how a school operates: You gain behind-the-scenes insight into how decisions are made and the complexities of running a school.

Being on the school council gives me a chance to have a voice in school decisions and make a positive impact in our school community. If anyone has any questions about what we do please feel free to contact myself.
