What a busy end to the term we have had! Students have been deepening their understanding of our Big Idea of Respect throughout the term and they have celebrated their learning in so many creative ways! Our prep students truly shone as amazing performers in the prep concert, Living In A Fairytale! They reimagined classic tales, showcasing kinder, more respectful characters in a delightful way. It was heartwarming to see their creativity and enthusiasm come to life on stage! The Grade 1/2s have designed a fantastic giant sign that highlights all the different ways we can show respect for ourselves, our environment, and others. Their creativity and teamwork will truly bring this important message to life! We can't wait to see the installation early next term! Meanwhile, the Grade 3/4s developed a toolbox of strategies while researching Paralympians, exploring the challenges they faced. Through this explorations students learnt so much about overcoming challenges and inclusion! And our Grade 5/6s took on the challenge of "Smash Stereotypes, Ditch Discrimination, Push Aside Prejudice, and Advocate for All." They created impactful plays that tackled important themes like being an Upstander, embracing diversity, and breaking down bias.
By fostering awareness and understanding, we’re building a more inclusive, connected, and kind community—values we cherish and will continue to prioritise!
Congratulations to our amazing Preps!
A wonderful highlight was last week’s amazing Prep Concert, Living In A Fairytale! A huge thank you to our talented Performing Arts teacher, Tim Phillips, for his passion and creativity in writing such a fantastic show. He nurtured our 67 prep students into confident and joyful performers for the night! The concert was ambitious, funny, and entertaining, and our preps truly shone on stage. They worked so hard and were thrilled to share their moment with family and friends!
Congratulations and thank you to Tim, Mrs Salisbury and a crew of amazing parent helpers who organised the beautiful costumes and props, our wonderful Prep Team, Elle, Mrs Barnden, Mrs Dimitriou and Mrs Reynolds anall of our teachers, ES staff and parents who helped make the night such a success, despite some challenges with the weather! Your support was greatly appreciated!
Victorian State School Spectacular
And just when Tim might have thought he could take a breather after the Prep concert, he jumped right into the next big event! He took 22 of our Grade 5 and 6 students, who were part of the mass choir, to the final rehearsal days and performances at the Victorian State School Spectacular. What a wonderful experience it was for them to be part of such a massive production at John Cain Arena, alongside over 3,000 primary and secondary students from Victorian Government schools, showcasing the extraordinary talent of young singers, dancers, and performers.
A huge thank you to Tim, Mrs. Brice, Mrs. Salisbury, and our amazing parent helpers for making this incredible opportunity possible for our students—it’s an experience they will never forget!
Footy Day
A big thank to our Grade 6 students, teachers and ES staff for all their hard work and planning to make last Friday’s Footy Day such a fun and successful day. Thank you to families for your support of the event. Hoping everyone enjoys the footy finals – may the best team win!
