Sustainability
There have been lots of valuable projects getting completed in Sustainability this term.
Leif’s group have continued monitoring nesting boxes and collecting data of the species using them which include sugar gliders, squirrel girders, possums and different varieties of bats. They have also been paving the fire pit and re-sealing the fire pit seats and the decking on the education hub.
Lori’s group have continued to monitor the activity of the foxes around the Mullinmur Billabong by creating ‘bait stations’, which involves burying chook eggs and then setting up trail cameras to observe if any foxes are digging them up.
Josh's group have continued to work on making aquatic plant rafts.
These are 100% biodegradable, they are made with reeds that have been sourced locally.
They have also been working on creating more bee hotels to attract pollinators.
