Principal's Report
End of Term 3
Dear Parents & Families,
I’m pleased to announce that Mitch Bright has been appointed Assistant Principal at Rochester Secondary College for 2025 and beyond. Mitch has done a fantastic job in the acting role this year and brings a wealth of experience, a strong leadership background and deep community ties that will help guide our school as we move forward. I’m excited to work alongside Mitch in this role, and I’m confident he will continue to be a great member to our leadership team. Please join me in congratulating him on this new position.
Yesterday, year 11 student Oakley Tarrant spoke at the Rochester Rotary Breakfast about his recent trip to Papua New Guinea where he got the opportunity to trek the Kokoda Trail. Oakley was one of five year 11 students from across the Murray Plains electorate to receive The Colin Sinclair Scholarship which provided this amazing opportunity. Oakley spoke extremely well and provided the community members an insight into his experiences in tackling the trail, stories he learnt about events that occured during the war, and a personal reflection about the sacrifices made by men who fought during the war so we can enjoy the lives we live today. Well done Oakley, we are proud of what you have acheived!
As we end what has been a busy and productive term three, I want to take a moment to thank all parents and families for your continued support. Your involvement and encouragement have helped keep everything on track, and we’ve been able to accomplish a lot this term as a school. Thank you to parents who completed the recent School Parent Opinion Survey and those parents that assisted the college with the parent forums for the review.
I want to wish you and your families a safe and happy break. Take the time to relax and recharge, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for a productive Term 4.
