Highvale Primary School is Committed To The Victorian Child Safe Standards
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind”
The last few weeks have been a bit of a blur as I prepare to leave Highvale Primary School after seven years. While I am sad to be leaving, I’m also quite excited about taking some Long Service Leave to spend time with my family before embracing new opportunities at Glendal Primary School.
From the very first day I started at Highvale Primary School, I have been warmly welcomed into the school and have enjoyed getting to know our community through HPCG, Carols Evenings and the many events we hold throughout the school year. I have always look forward to having saying hello families on the Turning Circle before and after school.
I have enjoyed working with the dedicated staff who strive to create exciting and challenging learning environments in their classrooms every day. If you know a teacher, you’ll know it’s probably one of the most challenging jobs you can do but the staff here always approach each day with enthusiasm and a desire to help each and every child and I thank them for their efforts.
I have also been very fortunate to work with such committed leadership teams, firstly with Steve Richardson and most recently with Carly Epskamp. I have learnt so much from them that has shaped my understanding of what makes a good leader and will, no doubt, help me in my new role. I leave knowing that the students of Highvale Primary School are in good hands.
One of things I will miss most is the students and their own unique personalities that make this job so rewarding. Hopefully in my wellbeing role, I was able to create a school environment that made them feel safe and included and helped them to develop some of the skills they will need to be successful in life.
I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with you and your children over the last few years. It's not quite farewell as I will be around in Term 4 and will see you at Carols Evening and Year 6 Graduation.
Take care
Josh
