News from the Art Room
THANK YOU!!
It has been a ‘beautiful mess’ in the art room this term as we start to near completion of costumes, sets and props for the school production. There are so many people to acknowledge and thank for their tremendous support and help.
Mrs Ann Earle and Danny Benoiton are an inspiring and creative duo and it is a privilege to be working alongside them, seeing this production evolve and watching their creative visions come to life. I have also loved working with my friend and mentor Tina Russo, it was lovely to have her back in the art room for a few days this term.
To the parents who have worked alongside me, from smaller jobs to fairly big ones, it has been really lovely getting to know you all and to parents that offered help from home too, I am extremely grateful and shows how important community involvement is for these such school events.
Finally, to all staff for taking on jobs to ensure their classes are ready for the big night, thank you for the time, effort and support.

2024 Book Week
It has been fun to use Book Week as inspiration for many lessons this term. Recently, students have been immersed in Dr Seuss stories and looking at his use of colour and line in illustrations. Students have enjoyed the freedom to create their own quirky, colourful and sassy landscapes inspired by the works of Dr Seuss.
Older students have been enjoying learning about and creating their own zines. A zine (pronounced ‘zeeen’, like the end of magazine), is a self published booklet made from 1 or 2 pieces of paper. Zines or 'fanzines' originated through letter-writing, and people sharing information with each other about things they were passionate about.
Students have enjoyed having choice of their topic and using a wide range of materials to make their zine individual and reflect them as individuals. Use the link below to revisit what we have been doing in class. I hope it inspires some more zines to be made at home!

Picasso Cows Program
I am very excited to announce that St Patrick’s has been accepted into the 2025 Picasso Cows Program. Please see the link below for further information and look out for our life-size like fiberglass cow that will arrive in term 2 next year (see example photos.) This will also form part of our 2025 Art Show as well as being aligned with specific artwork that is planned early in the year next year, with an emphasis on sustainability through art.
