Principal's Message

From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 3, Week 8

Good Afternoon Parents/Carers,

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge some sad news we received last week.  Mrs Betty Cross who was a patron and friend of our school passed away last Tuesday.  Mrs Cross was a valued member of our school community, and we thank her for her years of service to our school.  We would like to express our sincere condolences to Mrs Cross' Family during this sad time.

Behaviour Focus

In week 8 we will focus on the school value of safety:

  • Being in the right place at the right time.
  • Moving around the school sensibly and safely.
  • Being considerate of others and their space.
  • Following classroom and playground rules.

Road Safety to and from school

We have been advised that some students are not following road safety rules when travelling to and from school.  Could you please remind your children the importance of road safety and to look both ways when crossing the road and walking/riding to school.

NRL Blitz Team

Our students are very excited to have the NRL Blitz Team visit tomorrow to go through some drills and techniques centering around Rugby League.  Thank you to the NRL for visiting us and giving our students great opportunities.

School Assembly

We will be holding a school assembly this Friday, 13th September at 2:15pm.  Our K/1/2 students will be showcasing what they have been working on this term.  All welcome to attend.

Yr 5/6 Excursion to Hill End

Our Yr 5/6 Excursion to Hill End is only 1 week away and our students are very excited.  Everyone should now have all the information required for this excursion.  If you have not received the information or have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Tell Them From Me Survey

The annual Tell Them From Me Survey is open and I ask that all parents take the time to log on to: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/6hxy8 and fill out.  This survey is anonymous and helps shape our school.  The survey closes on 8th November 2024.

Inside the Classroom

This week we are showcasing some of the outstanding work our 5/6 students are producing in class.  This work can be viewed on our "Inside the Classroom" tab in the newsletter.

Regional Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to our Senior Boys Relay Team and to Piper (for high jump) in representing the Quirindi Zone last Wednesday.  All students represented both Werris Creek Public School and Quirindi PSSA Zone with pride and great sportsman ship.  We are all very proud of your efforts.
