Student Focus - Being Ready to Learn

Teachers have been speaking with their classes over the last week about being ready to learn. There are many aspects to being ready to learn, most obviously being equipped with school supplies like pencils or books and special equipment they may need like glasses. Being well-rested and getting enough sleep so they are alert and attentive, and good nutrition; eating healthy foods, particularly breakfast is important to maintain clear, focused thinking and energy levels. Other factors that prepare us for learning include good co-operation and listening skills to help us get along, and having a positive mindset to be willing to engage in new tasks, even when they seem difficult.

Uniform

With the warmer weather here, all students are now in full summer uniform. If, for any reason, the correct uniform is not worn, please ensure a note is sent to the school excusing the uniform and explaining when it will be rectified. It is now so important that students are prepared for school and being sun safe with their HTS hat. Primary students without a hat will be asked to sit in the shade during break times.

Debating

The Armidale Diocesan Debating Competition has finished for another year, This has been the 6th year of competition. Holy Trinity entered several year 6 and several secondary teams. Holy Trinity, Inverell were overall winners this year. They secured the most wins in the Stages 3, 4 and 5 competitions! A special thanks goes out to Mrs Taylor one of our Secondary English teachers who coached and ran the teams for Holy Trinity.
