Variety - Educational Scholarships 

Variety Educational Scholarships support Victorian children who are experiencing disadvantage with assistance to cover basic educational needs.  Applications for Educational Scholarships for the 2025 school year open on 1 September 2024. 

Who can apply? 

To be eligible for a Variety Educational Scholarship, applicants need to be residents of Victoria and fall within the age range of 5 to 17 years old. Each applicant is eligible to hold only one scholarship within a 12-month period. Additionally, students must be enrolled in full-time primary, secondary, or tertiary education, which includes school years Prep - 12, TAFE, or other educational institutions.   Applications can be made on behalf of students by a parent/carer or another identified support person (medical professional, caseworker, teacher etc.) 

What can be funded? 

Primary School Students 

Educational supplies up to the value of $500 per child including books, stationary, uniform, camps and excursions 

Secondary School/ TAFE Students 

Educational supplies up to the value of $1000 per child including books, stationary, uniform, camps and excursions 

Laptop and case (approved models only) 

Assistive Technology up to the value of $1000 per child including C-Pens, controllers and accessible hardware or software 

What can't be funded? 

• Retrospective funding or reimbursement 
• School fees 
• Items that cannot be invoiced 
• Transport costs 

Please note that scholarship applications are only open from September to November and will be granted for the following calendar year.
