Spotlight on Learning
Stage 1
1P have had a busy few weeks and have enjoyed learning about volume by measuring and comparing the internal volumes (capacity) of containers by filling them with water and blocks. They are now able to explain why different shaped containers can have the same internal volume.
We enjoyed writing the recipe and procedure for pancakes and then using this recipe to cook and eat pancakes. Next time we will definitely use the recipe that includes sugar!
Everyone in our class has enjoyed the Badminton lessons during Friday sport and the photos show some of the moments we shared together.

Stage 2
Stage 2 Mandarin students are embracing an exciting and interactive learning journey! Through engaging Blooket games, they are expanding their vocabulary by mastering key words and phrases related to the body, common ailments, and giving medical advice. These games make learning both fun and effective. After honing their skills, students write doctor-patient dialogue scripts in Google Docs, record their role-plays, and save them in their individual photo albums. They also confidently perform their dialogues in front of the class, demonstrating impressive language skills and acting. This hands-on approach fosters both a love for learning and increased confidence in Mandarin communication!
Stage 3
K-6P
Looking back over this term, we realised that ‘P’ had featured significantly, so we would like to show you some of the things beginning with ‘P’ which we’ve been doing.
As we discovered more about Poetry, we included a wider range of poetic devices in our own poems:
Our older students have shared their understanding of Percentages, fractions and decimals:
Some recognise, some can draw and others can explain Parallel or Perpendicular lines:
We investigated Patterns, including Pascal’s triangle for older students:
After learning a little about Picasso and Cubism, we made artworks in this style:
Of course, we remembered ‘Papa’ on Father’s Day:
Our Painting skills have been tested, as we learnt more about using watercolours:
We’ve practised for the Roselea ‘Night of Stars’ Performance :
Rounding off Term 3, over the past four weeks Lachlan Bailey, from Cricket NSW, has shared his cricketing expertise with our class. Our students found it a lot of fun, as they learnt about batting, bowling and aiming for accuracy.
What a great memory to end an excellent term!
