ALUMNI News

The Musical Director of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, a Scientist, a Construction Manager, are just a few of the 16 amazing Frankston High School alumni who returned to their old school to tell their stories and inspire students about pathways into a wide variety of careers.

YEAR 11 VOICE AND AGENCY SESSIONS

At the end of August, a series of general careers sessions with alumni were held for Year 11. Students chose to hear from alumni in the field of their choice, selecting from politics, communications, construction, communications, the police force, hospitality, research and law (to name just a few). One student stated afterwards:

“It was fantastic. It really helped me clarify my direction. It was also great that they are all past Frankston High School students (we even had the same Science teacher!) which reassured me that I can also do it!”

Teaching staff were also very cognisant of the value of these sessions for students with Mrs Sarah Bahramis, Student Voice, Agency and Leadership sharing:

“The visit from Frankston High School alumni was a brilliant opportunity for our Year 11 students to hear from inspiring individuals in various fields. The agency students had over selecting which alumni and field that they would like to hear from was excellent. The session with Luke Hunter, currently Musical Director of Beauty and the Beast was highly engaging and informative. Students who attended loved hearing his story and the various shows he has been involved in. Many students stayed back after school to learn more. Overall, an insightful and inspiring session.”

And Mrs Jessica Bambridge, Connectedness reflected:

“Alumni engagement with students bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world experience, providing invaluable insights, inspiration, and a connection to their future possibilities. Their stories not only motivate but also equip students with the confidence and perspective needed to navigate their own career paths. Plus, it is great to maintain the connection and relationships with past students and I personally loved seeing many of my previous students thriving!”

Huge thanks to all the alumni who participated in these sessions, who themselves very much enjoyed returning to school and giving back.
