What is your favourite TV show?

I’m trying to avoid TV as much as possible, however I have enjoyed watching Alone and MasterChef as a couple of favourites.

What is your favourite food?

Ice cream.

Why did you want to work in education?

To help young people realise the diversity of their own potential, and through them, have a positive impact on the future.

What can't you live without?

My family.

What are some ways that you take action?

Previous to being a teacher I was a professional environmental campaigner and have worked for several well know environmental charities building a people powered movement to protect nature.

Big cities or rural adventures?

Rural adventures. Highly recommend an adventure to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery in spring when the blossoms are out.

What inspires you?

When others display bold acts of courage and kindness.

Do you have any hobbies?

Yes, Portuguese learning, gardening and mushrooms at home and running workshops in my community garden and beyond.

What is your favourite type of music?

I have an eclectic taste and appreciate most genres of music from world, hip hop, dub step, trap, reggae, reggaeton, afro beats, instrumental, classical and pop. Music makes me happy. I’m listening to a lot of Brazilian hip hop at the moment, trying to understand some slang in the language and struggles in the culture.

Have you ever been given some advice that changed your life?

Always work on building your confidence by becoming more comfortable in uncomfortable situations.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my  55 day plus run streak on duo lingo, and that I’m regularly practising my Brazilian Portuguese every day.

What do you enjoy most about your role at ENPS?

When my students surprise me with unexpected kindness and share their learning that inspires excellence.

Do you have a standout memory from your time at primary school?

Playing for hours in the dirt with the 1987 Muppet Babies figurines collected from Happy Meals. They are now considered vintage!

What do you value the most?

Love, kindness and empathy.
