From the Year 5 Classroom

It’s hard to believe it’s Week 7! We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. The Yr students have begun NAPLAN testing today. They did a Narrative piece of Writing this morning. More testing will occur tomorrow, Friday and Monday.

Dates for your calendar:

Week 8:

Friday 21st March... Yr 5 Parish Mass...9.30am

Term 2:

Wednesday 25th - Friday 27th June … Year 5 Camp to Ballarat

Home Reading- REMINDER

Year 5 students are encouraged to read at home for a minimum of 80 minutes per week. This is to be recorded in their school diary. Diaries are used at school throughout the week, so we ask that rather than taking diaries home, children recorded their reading each morning as part of their daily set up.

Diaries will be checked by class teachers each Friday.

Literacy

Our class novel, War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, is nearing the finish with only two chapters left! The students are focusing on ‘Persuasive’ pieces of writing.
