Futsal Tournament Winners

On Tuesday the 25th of March the Grade six boys went to the New Gisborne stadium to play futsal. We had lots of fun and played very well and ended up winning the grand final. The first game we played was against Braemar. It was very close but we lost 2-1 in the end. Our second game was against St Brigid's and we drew 1-1. Our third and last game for the group stage was against Willowbank we won 6-1. Next was the first game of the final. We won 2-1 with a golden goal in the last 24 seconds. Then was the semi-final against New Gisborne which we won 2-1 putting us through to the grand final. The grand final was very close, but we ended up winning 2-1. A big thanks to Mr. O for taking us and to Pete Greene for coaching.

A note from Mr O:

I was honoured to accompany the boy's futsal team to Macedon Ranges Recreation Centre on Tuesday 25th March to be a part of what was a fantastic day in sport for our school.

The boys played with passion and determination from the start, showing amazing teamwork throughout the day. Each of the boys played their roles on the team so well, and they grew in confidence during the event as they began to believe they could win the tournament. In a nail-biting final, Macedon PS won 2 – 1, and the boys were ecstatic.

I was so proud of their efforts and the way they conducted themselves on the day.

A very special thanks goes to Peter Greene for coaching and guiding the team on the day.

And a big thanks to all the parents who came along to support the boys as well.
